VE Supercharged std in UK??

If you Google video 'Supercharged Vauxhall' (Holden in UK), you will find the GT8 in a supercharged version, the last Monaro in the UK came out supercharged (look up supercharged Monaro) and yet here you cannot buy a VE with factory superchargers. I think the last Monaro was also a 6litre motor, don't know if it was a L98 but I can't find any info on having the same equipment purchased here so it can be 'bolted on'.
Any idea from the forum why UK get the 'specials'?:cry:

AFAIK the Vauxhall VXR8 (HSV Clubsport R8) is NA. The one Jeremy test drove on Top Gear was anyway. YouTube - Top Gear - Vauxhall VXR8


I know the supercharged cars you're talking of but I think you'll find Harop used them as marketing tools when the cars were first released.

Yes think you're right, superchargers installed aftermarket in UK.

check out walkinshaw performance..... they do the upgrade kits for the L98

Hi, just joined the forum and moved from the U.K to Aus about 8 month's ago.

I'm really just reading up on commodores before buying one.

Anyway the Vauxhall monaro was sold in the U.K for around £35,000 and the supercharger was an option from the dealers, the car itself was a huge hit amongst Vauxhall enthusiast's (myself included).
But when news leaked out of the VE or Vxr8 as it's called in the UK the last 50odd were left unsold untill Vauxhall decided to fit the supercharger to the lot and sell them around 5k less than the standard model :yeah:

Yeah but the point is, it's not fitted by GMH. It's done once they get to the UK. And why wouldn't it be? They have to compete with the likes of Bimmer, Merc, etc.

The 70,000 pound (cost) was tested against a S/C Jag on the car show with Jeramy whats his name. It was not just a S/C bolted onto a Monaro. So I'm off the plot here abit then.
