Just a quick question - Has anyone successfully replaced the tail lights in a VE commodore? if so, how easy?

It can apparently be done in 5 minutes per light. I have had a quick look and can sort of see the screws for the left one through the battery compartment. I assume the same is on the right one under the carpet. Is it as simple as removing th screws and pulling out the lights?

- I have bought some new SSV black tail lights for my omega

Yep as simple as that. We put SS-V tail lights in my dads omega. Straight swap. Did it about 2 months ago and no probs so far.

It is simple once you know how to do it. undo the screws, jiggle light around to loosen from body and unplug from loom and pull towards you, not up or down. The bumper holds them in at the bottom with a sort of slide on clip, ya new lights will have this cut out on each of the lights, then carefully slide new lights in and plug in loom redo screws make sure they tight BUT not over tight and the rubber seal is nice and tight against body. :)

They do look great especially on dark colour cars. My dad's car is evoke and it looks great. He even found a way to put the SS grille on and that looks heaps better.
