BTW if you do plug in using USB can you play music using streaming apps, Spotify etc or only from Music using the IPOD source

Yes, you can use Spotify etc when plugged in. But I just use BT for that.

I tried using the USB port to charge the phone, the phone 'indicated' that it was charging, but after 30 mins it hadn't increased in capacity.
A charger in the power port under the HVAC controls works so much better...

Yeah, my USB port just holds charge when the phone is in use.
