VF Local Content

Hi all,

I was just wondering what the local content of the VF is likely to be. I suspect that it is much lower than the VE.

Can anyone add or modify this list.

Local Content

- Paint
- Stamping of panels
- Assembly labour
- Steel for panels ??
- Base block of V6 3.0 and 3.6
- Front and rear bumpers and hard plastic internal trim


Imported Content

- Tyres - japan/thailand
- Glass - EU
- Mylink and Software - mylink - Panasonic and US
- Wiring and Electronics, HUD, lane departure, blind spot warning, self parking etc - US
- Transmissions - Manual and Auto - france (auto) japan (manual)
- V8- mexico
- Curtain Airbag components- US
- Front seat airbags- US
- electric power steering - korea

Where are you getting your info from on imported content?? You maybe surprised that some of that is actually made in Aus.

Tyres and glass say where they are made or the manufacturer. Engines and transmissions are well known or have a look at attached components on the V6. The V8 is shipped directly from mexico.

Many reputable sources have reported the electronics being from the GM parts bin like mylink and the body wiring harness being hand made in Indonesia.

The list of imported components I suspect is rather long unfortunately. I was hoping someone close to holden is able to clarify this matter.

I forget to add to the local content being 3external plastics such as front and rear bumpers and many of the dash and door plastics especially the hard scratchy ones are very similar to the VE are made and moulded within the plant at Elizabeth

You'll probably find the Holden is more then 50% imported.
