That is weird. My 2016 Calais V doesn’t have a perforated wheel. I was trying to get my hands on an HSV unit but this lockdown put that on hold

My 16 Calais V didn’t either. My 17 Redline does though. I’d prefer my Calais wheel tbh

assume that's what they mean, i'd be interested to know just how good that material is as a wheel.

I think good to start with, but the small pile rubs and flattens with a lot of use I think.

I'd love one of those blacked out gearknobs though. Looks great
$480 from OPG though :(

Terrible. You'd be lucky to get 5 years out of it, as a daily. That's Alcantara in general, nothing to do with HSV.

Alcantara provides better grip but is terrible for daily use. It wears out pretty quickly. The piles flatten and the high use parts (like steering, gear knob etc.) start to smell weird - maybe due to all the sweat and oils which get absorbed. I have never understood the fascination for that material, when it comes to "normal" cars.

My 16 Calais V didn’t either. My 17 Redline does though. I’d prefer my Calais wheel tbh

I feel that the perforated wheel offers a better grip. But I guess that is a very subjective call.

yeah you would definitely need to clean it every other month

My VFI CalaisV had a perforated wheel. I didn’t option it, that’s just how it arrived. October 2013 build.

Apologies all, I double checked some old photos, and my CalaisV did NOT have a perforated wheel.
