I haven’t fitted them yet, but I have purchased replaced rotors and pads for my car.

Rather than go strictly Holden-OEM with the rotors and pads, I decided to go Brembo-OEM instead.

For example, the front pads (Holden 92277173) are made by Brembo and have Brembo pads 2x 07871558 and 2x 07871559 as part of the kit. If you look up Brembo P10064N and look up the technical specifications sheet, it lists them as replacements for GM 92277173 (and well as for many others).

The P10064Ns have the anti-squeal weights, and also have the acoustic wear-limit thingos too. There is a difference in the backing pad. The Holden/GM ones have a corner cut off the backing pads (so they have to be fitted in a particular way), whereas the Brembo ones have full backing pads (and can be fitted any way).

I‘m not sure about the difference in the actual compounds. The Holden ones have HP1000 whereas the P10064N use NAO.

Price difference is impressive… Holden ~$480 per set (fronts), whereas the Brembo ~ $225 (both are eBay prices).

If anyone is interested, the equivalent for the rears is P11024N

I just went with DBA T3 for the rotors.

Ferodo make/made the OE front and rear brake pads (HP1000/1) for Holden OE Brembo calipers. 07871558 and 07871559 refer to the inner and outer side pad.

So... after installing the new front rotors and pads without issue, I came to do the rears, and the new pads don't fit ‍♂️

The pads are Intima SR, same as the fronts. I've been in contact with manufacturer and they are correct pads for the VF Brembo rear calipers, dimensions are within 0.3 mm between existing Ferodo OEM and the new ones. Pistons are pushed back in etc etc and yet they still don't fit. It's doing my head in. Any ideas on where I'm going wrong?

Take the pads out. Grab a tooth brush and clean the inside of the calipers, especially were the backing plates slide. Maybe all that debris is stopping the backing plates from sliding in. Just a guess, I always clean mine before putting in new pads.

I also grease the side of the backing plate that slide with copper paste.

How do the new and old backing plates compare for size? Which dimension is 0.3 mm different?

Length wise. 110.0mm vs 109.7mm.

Pad thickness 14mm.

Yeah I'll give it another go after cleaning it up properly. Had absolutely no issues with the fronts.

I haven’t tried fitting them yet, but these are the lengths of the Brembo (brand) pad. The measurements are on two different pads…
