Afternoon all,

Recently my 2014 ssv has developed a problem with the AC system. The passenger side blows cold air but the drivers side blows air out at around 22 degrees.
After googling I haven't found a definitive answer on what causes this.
I've tried pulling fuse 14 and also disconnected the battery with no luck.

When I receive a call when driving, the blower speed drops off to around speed 4 (not sure if this is standard) and also when I receive a call the drivers side AC gets cold again like it should.

What causes this issue within the VF ?
Thanks in advance and look forward to hearing how people overcame this.

That's a classic sign you have a leak in the pipe.

The fan speed slowing is normal.

This ... for some unknown reason, modern cars still use vacuum pipes to operate valves rather than electrons. Likely a hole in one of the plethora(*) of hoses, or the hose ain't pushed into the fitting properly.

Has there been any fiddling under the bonnet or under the dash? If so, have a look at the hoses in that general area.

First place I'd check is a/c pipes under hood, the larger one is prone to leak. If you have a blacklight you should be able to see.

The VE uses electronic actuators so I’m pretty sure the VF would as well.

Have you tried doing a HVAC reset? In the VE (might be different for VF) you press and hold the rear demist button for 10 seconds or so until you hear all the actuators start moving under the dash.

If that doesn’t fix the issue then you have a problem, mostly likely a dodgy actuator or the drive spline on the recirc door is shattered. On my SSV it was the recirc door, which is a PITA to replace.
