Holden can't find any records of a recall being completed on the car or it being part of a recall.
interesting that @lmoengnr had his recall being made in the same month, maybe the local dealer didn't look properly? Who is my best contact for this kind of info? does Holden customer care still exist?
The guys who have it are LS specialist, they do all the LS stuff around here so its in good hands.
Really hoping there isn't any bullshit found after the heads are off.

its shitty timing too, coz the heads will need to come off when/if I put a cam in it.. pending the outcome of this thread
@Anthony121 above offered to look it up for you.

All Sept. built Commodores fitted with LS3's were subject to the recall.
Mine was delivered on the 9th of Oct., they told me I would have to bring it back for the rocker replacement when they had stock.
It was 2 weeks before I had to get the rockers replaced when stock came in(I had given the rockers a fair workout by that stage)
If you picked your Commodore up towards the end of October or later, chances are the recall was carried out by the dealer mechanics, who really f*cked up...

If y

If you post the julien date of the engine then it can be checked to see if it was part of the recall. I guess you're not the original owner of the vehicle?
sorry can you clarify what you mean by julien date? google did not help me with this lol
first few numbers\letters on the engine are LS3DGD17 - and no not original owner

I believe any dealer can check a vehicles status and identify if for example rockers, hvac grommet and such were actually done.If this wasn’t the case, one dealers could be doing the same recall that another dealer has already done, multiple times…

HCC still exist and should be able to find out if they can be bothered. As a minimum they should be able to tell you who the selling dealer was and that dealer should have some info…

If you know the selling dealer, I’d go in and ask them (if local) and then if they say they did it, get a printout of the job and then show them the pic you posted here… Video the encounter and put their reaction when seeing the rockers on YouTube

As your engine was built after April 2017 (Actual date for your engine was 20th June), this would of been caught up in the recall for the rockers. I would guarantee the Holden dealer or whoever had these rockers out stuffed them up.

I just looked up my Director's engine and it was built one day prior and that failed on the way home from dealership. Your car must of been built around late August or early September 2017.
