Doors are ready for blasting. Need to get the rust off the back side, get them back and do some metal repairs and get them into EPOTEC.

Wow it’s been a long time since my last update... Sorry!

Sadly it’s the wet season up here so not much does get done. However the engine is assembled and on its run in stand finally. This weekend will be a big one too as I’m making a dash. I’ll keep you all updated...

Oh and nearly forgot the body is on a trolley now so it’s ready for blasting! Can’t wait for APRIL!!

Well sadly we didn’t get the dash done on Saturday because of some massive monsoonal storms we are having in Darwin atm. However I did manage to finish off the engine stand so we can get the engine started in the next week or few :)

The stand has been made to run in the engine until the car is finished. Hopefully no issues this time after the machinist got the bearing sizes wrong!

Dash is on its way after cutting folding and in and outs to get it right. So far so good! Just need to make mounting brackets now!

Last night we made her run. Honestly couldn’t be more excited!

She is grumpy and I think she is going to be really snappy. Oil pressures are good and temps are perfect. Rings seemed to have bedded in quickly. Now to do another 1-2 runs like this and then put the second stage of valve springs in and go for glory.

Might just buy myself another street car...

SOooo, I've just read your post (from page 1) Well done mate! looks like it's coming along a treat.

I'm in the process of paint stripping at the moment and it's ******* killing me, the previous owner painted over the chrome trims (windscreen, bumpers, door handles, badges)

last night I started to paint strip the front bar and after 3 hours work it looked like nothing was done!

good on you mate for the perseverance.

Thanks mate

Yeh it’s hard slow work doing body work but the end is rewarding. My mates like to say that I picked the hardest trade of the lot of us as it takes longer than anything and has to be perfect in every step. Keep at it mate and if u need some help just post a pic/send me a msg and I’ll try to help out.

It’s very slow atm as once again big costs are involved for my build as I want to make sure everything is perfect. For example I’m buying a new compressor which is $1400 just to do it at home instead of work.

But either way time money and patience will get me there.

I've got a workshop in Syd, however we don't do any body work, i'm doing of much of it by myself as possible, also it's a fun little project for my son and I to do together.

i'll start a little thread soon, absolutely nothing like yous haha!

keep posting, need your build to help inspire me to keep going.

Sadly my build stopped last week. I came to a little realisation that the costs laid out in front of me were going to outweigh the end result and so I BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE :)

Telling myself Im not going to strip it is the hardest thing... But I will start another thread.

For now this little beauty is up for sale.
