VK Calais do these numbers line up

Hey guys relatively fresh around here I've been watching the forum for a while I am looking at this VK Calais I just want to check if the numbers line up with the engine number or thereabouts appropriate date etc
Vt44185 eng
And the tag for the car is attached

5 litre auto in a 333 pack VK calais .. so says the tag

engine number?... VT44185 does not seem right
as GMH used SIX numbers behind the prefix in VK
but the VT prefix is correcto.... VT is std L31 308
engines in VB thru VK series

yup... std number for the 308

Does the motor build number match the date of manufacture?? As you know holden have f.all records

Quick search shows up a similar car

8VX19- Calais sedan
T- 5 litre
D- year 1984
L1- Adelaide plant
124305- is I.d number which should match your body/option plate which it does from wot u posted.
K- represents VK from the V series commodores.

333 pack.L31- 5.0.
M40- trimatic
G70- 2.60:1
being 5L a LSD diff

Paint 2F013D- Cedar
Trim- 3035 is shade 73Y Copper

thanks for that all that info lines up with what the car is so that is a plus,
does any one else have a MAY 84 vk 5ltr that has similar engine number, i would like to know it the engine number lines up with vehicle manufacture month (within reason) ...if you get what i am saying? i understand the VT is correct but i am sure that the may cars should be within a couple / of hundred or so? surely?

Yes, the cast date will be with in a few months before car is made.

you forget GMH NEVER matched engine production with vehicle production.
Engines could be/were made months in advance of being stuck in a car

The only way to get a bit of an idea.. is to get the block cast date
(from the numbers above where the timing case bolts up)

Even that may not help lots... a block could be cast in June 1983, sitting
still in the fettling plant or Plant16 at Fishermens Bend for 3 or 6 months
before being completed .. and then a few months later shipped off to a VAP
being fitted in May84
