hi every 1
im currently looking to spend some cash on my newly accuired vl calais 304ci v8
iv got about 8 gz to spend on motor alone
need some help on how to spend it!!!
i was thinking some thing like the following
stroke to 355 (if i can go bigger i will _383 ???)
forged postons 20 thou over bore
nice sized high rise manifold
650 double pumper
vn heads
nice lumpy cam stage 4/5
gilomure drive
these are the main things i was thinking of doing what else do you think is worth while doing
any help is greatly appreciated

There isn't any need to go forged pistions unless you are running forced induction.
I'd go:
* Bore it 20 thou' to clean up the bores, getting it all crack tested and acid cleaned.
* 355 strocker to keep costs down and is more reliable.
* Some VN heads mildly ported.
* Cam, nothing to hardcore.
* Either a twin throttle manifold (C.O.M.E, Active or Walky/VN Group A), or something like a Harrop Dual Plane manifold (streeter) or a Single Plane (strip)
* Either the 650 DP or maybe even go the 750 DP depending on the final setup.


Keep in mind you will need to upgrade things like fuel system, gearbox (auto or manual?), brakes, etc....

yeah iv already accounted for all other areas like gearbox , diff and all that
box will be
t700 (rebuilt), manual valve bodies, 2500 stall converter, b&m quick shift
standard diff with mini spool and std ratios
havnt worked out fuel system side yet (any suggestions???)
