I JUST BOUGHT A VL COMMODORE AND IT WONT START

I HAVE TRIED

WATER IN THE DIZZY NOTHING THERE
AIR FLOW NOTHING THERE
O2 CENSER NOTHING THERE
SPARK PLUG LEADS ARE FINE

i cleaned the spark plugs with sand paper and it started first go but then started missing and stopped i pulled them out and i think there were 2 that were black not from oil i think its from fuel it wasn't wet

i cant see changing the spark plugs would make a difference

would it be a fuel problem injectors maybe

its also not the fuel pump thats working fine

im racking my brains trying to figure it out any ideas???

Air flow meter or crank angle sensor. Do a search there is so much info on here regarding vls not starting.
Try this unplug the air flow meter and try start your car. If it starts and idles fine your afm is failing. If your not getting spark it's most likely the cas or coil

if its backfired like u have said. it would have popped your airflow meter hot wire... as its thinner than hair.

pull back the rubber boot on the CAS plug and check the wires are all still connected and not corroded off. this is common.

when u did the CAS did u remove the dizzy?

try another afm from a mate or wrecker.. just test it before u buy one from a wrecker.
inspect the thin wire in the afm... but im gonna roll with the AFM.

and u trying to start it with your foot pumping throttle is not going to do anything as its an injected engine not carby..
this is how u backfire it and damage afm's

i had another play around with it yesterday and got it going turned the dizzy around 180 degrees it was firing on the exhaust stroke thats why it was backfiring out the exhaust the airflow metre is fine only problem now is its missing but that shouldnt be too bad to figure out :) thanks
