VL turbo Vs. XR6 turbo

Hey guys was just wondering how a stock VL turbo would go against a stock BA XR6 turbo (both manual). not certain of kilowatts, but the Ford piece would have to be heaps heavier would it not? it assume it would be pretty close between the 2.

Stock vs Stock who really knows, vlt with the boost up a bit should *should* beat it.. Purely because of weight.

what i could find is14.0-14.3 are the times that the XR6T gets stock, thats fairly quick. Also i found a couple of things. but it seems the VLT is somewhere between 15.5 - 16.0. **** i thought it would be closer than that! nothing winding up the boost can't fix :yeah:

The VLT only had like 150kw and 296nm and weighed about 1300kgs = 8.6kg per kw
the XR6T has 240kw and 450nm and weighs 1685kg = 7.0kg per kw which = faster

Motor quoted a best quarter of 15.2 out of the VLT, and a best of 14.1 from the XR6T

Which reminds me... who's seen MOTOR recently? The FPV Typhoon - BWAA HAHAHAHA!!! Kicked out of PCOTY because of TWO blown clutches. Whats more, a stock XR6 is faster!!

You have to remember also the XR6 has a whole litres displacment and over 10 years youth over the VL, so it bloody well should be faster. Even then for what it is, the VLT really was the jewel of Holdens 1980's crown.

And yeah I read Motor with the Typhoon and the stocko comparison.. Geezz!! I wouldn't be happy!!!
