ITEM: 1989 VN executive, series 1 5 speed manual.
LOCATION: Traralgon, Vic.
YEAR: November 1989
SERIES: VN
BADGE: Executive
ENGINE: 3.8L Series 1 V6
TRANSMISSION: t5 manual
COLOUR: light blue
EXTERIOR CONDITION: poor, front guards badly faded and some rust, assorted scratch's across the car.
INTERIOR CONDITION: Average
TYRE CONDITION: 0% 0%, all tyres crap, some have slow leaks etc.
TYRE SIZE INCLUDING LOAD RATING: 205/65/R15 - load ratings vary due to different tyres.
ODOMETER: 420xxx~ (cluster was apparently swapped by previous owner due to original failing)
SERVICE HISTORY: noooo.
REGO OF CAR: NO REG last registered in VIC.
PLATES INCLUDED: no
RWC: no.
PRICE: 1300 negotiable.

OTHER INFO: So as stated, I'm selling an 89 VN series 1 5 speed. reason for sale is i intended to take the 5 speed to put in my car, then convert the auto back, i later came to realise this cannot happen with the s1, and didn't want to leave the car minus a gearbox. (It is written everywhere, but i'm so bright i somehow missed it all.)
The good:
HD clutch
new spigot bush (old one was buggered)
K-mac strut tops
extractors
power mirrors
calais seats
lowered (not by me, so i don't know what with, however i've put monroe shortened rear shocks in because i was unhappy with the ones it had.)
new fluid in diff & gearbox
'sports' steering wheel
Handbrake lever (ratchet handle assembly) replaced
wiper switch block on dash & wiper motor replaced
Parts replaced ~6 months prior to me purchasing the car :
ball joints
Steering rack
lower control arm bushes
caster rod bushes(on K-frame AND control arm)
sway bar link pins & bushes
Wheel bearings
Tie rod ends
water pump
exhaust rubbers
THE BAD:
PAINT. as stated previously it has its fair share of scratch's, some reasonably minor dints etc. (roof seems a little damaged panelwise, but paint is okay.)
Severely faded on top of front guards, some rust coming through.
may have a blown head gasket, seemed OKAY when i started it today, but usually it plumes white smoke pretty constantly.
cracked windscreen
bald/leaking tyres
crappy battery that cant hold charge for a day.
rear springs were cut by previous owner, unfortunately i dont have any spare rear springs to replace them with.
No head unit
all windows tinted except drivers (previous owner removed due to peeling tint)
2 rust holes in passenger doors (small) have been removed and fibre glassed over
rust hole in rear drivers door (large) still remains, i intended to have it fixed but haven't gotten around to it, this can be organised for an extra $100 though, i have
a sheet here to be welded in, and can get a friend to do it, or one could do it themselves if they're confident..
I can supply some spares if needed, i have a letterbox grille i'll let go with it for an extra $50
Or for free: passenger guard, (used) front Superlow king springs, front acdelco shocks (maybe shortened?) passenger headlight.
car does have the intake pipe to the air box on it, it was just removed at the time of the picture.
would suit someone chasing a t5 conversion, or with some work could make an okay car.
Also, i'm looking to get my hands on a vn or onwards 5L (auto), i'll take 1300ono cash for my car OR swap it for a EFI 5L (and depending on what's offered, i'll give some cash too, not chasing a 355 or an ss or anything, just a plain, preferably pretty crappy 5L EFI commo.)
I WOULD ADVISE THE CAR BEING COLLECTED WITH A TRAILER. IT DOES START, RUN & DRIVE BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAR THE ENGINE COULD TAKE YOU.
I'd be happy to answer any questions to the best of my abilities, or supply any pictures needed etc, just PM me for any details. cheers
