Nothing against VT's (I might own one soon) but i think they were the slowest V6 of all from VN to VZ.

Yeah, impossible
It must have been a bad review of the VR that one everyone quotes, VR go about the same as a VP(little bit slower). The thing with these reviews is that you don't know how much wheelspin they got etc. A VN series one is faster than a VP no question about it but the popular reviews that are around on the net don't show this. The order of speed is pretty simple.

VN-VP-VR-VZ-VS-everything else is about the same slowness-

VR Commodores are only 130kw and they're still the Buick V6, not the Ecotec, but with the same body as a VS which is heavier than the VN and VP bodies. Plus the electronic throttle control lets the VR down in shifts. The shifts are smoother, not as hard and 'primitive' as what you get in the VN. I've seen a stock VP drag a stock VR with a 2.5 inch cat back exhaust and the VP won pretty easy.

Why would a series 1 VN with 125kw be faster than a series 2 with 127kw and an extra 2NM of torque? Its not much but thats basically the difference.

The VR arnt that quick, my mate had a VR with a mild shift kit, (still chirped into 2nd) Pacemaker headers, 2.5inch exhaust, cold air intake, k&n filter, and roller rockers and i still beat him, he was gaining on me, and i didnt beat him by as much as i did prior to the roller rockers, but i still beat him. A VN should have a VT easily
