VP Climate Control: Self Diagnosis??

I'm Having problems with the Climate control not working all the time. Sometime I can push the auto or Demist button and it starts and other times nothing works. Any suggestions as this can create a hazzard during the colder months with no demister.

I did the diagnostics and got 26 (air mix door position) how do I fix it?
