You could always use a steal pipe as leverage, so long as your tools are strong enough, thats what I did.

Im assuming this will all work for a VS Wagon too? just jack it up, undo the bolts, replace the bushes and reassemble....

can also get 1 piece nolathane (super pro etc bout $20 from super cheap) once the old ones are out grease the new ones and even though fiddly to line up straight and hold, use a vice to push them in if you don't have access to a press, used this method quite a few times even though i have a press here i found this just as quick, i've always used the old crush tube (only one used on these) as long as it's in good condition and not rusted/pitted
