VP power steering rack in VL ???

Sorry to post again and piss people off...just asking if VP-VS rack will fit into VL
just looking for a yes or no answer before i chop up and weld my intermediate shaft ( and i cbf today

i used a vn power rack in my vl, from memory
i could use vn to vs

I was told that my VL needed a new steering rack but eventually an honest steering machanic told me many racks were replaced needlessly due to wrong diagnosis, he said a rack would fail gradually with plenty of warning
my problem turned out to be caused by a thrown balance weight on a front wheel
