VR 5.0L manual PCU substitute?

Hi guys,

I have had an issue with a VR ute running a 5.0L, it came up with a knock sensor code but its does not have one as it's not an HSV engine. Due to the fact it does not have one and its the only thing wired directly to the PCM according to the wiring diagram, I need a replacement. The problem is the PCM I am after is rare, it is Service NO. 16183082 5.0L MAN EFI BLCF. I have sourced a VN/VP computer that has identical loom plugs, do you think it will run in the VR? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I believe it’ll run with the 808 but won’t have high speed comms.

Does it have an aftermarket memcal? Does it still run okay?

Put the VR memcal (the blue chip) in the new ECU, pretty sure it doesn't matter what car the ECU is from for VN-VS manual as long as it has the right memcal.
