Very slow electric windows in VR S pack sedan. What do I look at first ?
There is some electrical wiring mess near the fuse board under dash.

All 4 windows run slow and been like that since purchasing a few weeks ago.
The previous owner claimed he was a mechanic .... lol :banstick:

VR/VS power windows will be slow compared to VT onwards. I would estimate the window speed in my VS Calais/Clubsport to be around 50% of my VX GTS.

+1. My old VR the power windows were very slow. Down was ok but up was slow. And the rear took 3 years to go up. tried silicon spray and helped but nothing else really did. They're just slow.

I agree with blackvxgts however my drivers side front and rear and my rear passanger side go up and down fairly quick.. not as fast as a vt but my front passenger side is really slow.. it takes about 7 seconds to go up compared to the rest only taking 4-5 seconds..

I cleaned my rails and the guides in the seals with alcohol and it worked a treat.. just leave in a week or so before cleaning the windows cause it seems to leave residue for a while..

Many thanks for the replies. :beer chug:
I will try the silicone spray, have some here already.
Will give the runners a clean first.

Just wasn't sure as it is the first VR I have seen with power windows.
The door trims look like they have the hole for the manual winder, just a plastic cap fitted over the hole.

it is possable you have after market winders if you up grade the wiring with heavier gauge wires that could reduce the resistance then give you faster speeds

Motor is probably full of junk and needs lubing, or is dying.
If they go down ok and up slowly, the clock spring is most likely broken.

This VR has been in the backyard since the hot weather started as AC did not work and to scared to put windows down. Only took to door trim off today for a look see.
And this is what I saw. This is definitely aftermarket stuff. Will rip it out and go old skool manual winders for now. There are even extra switches just hanging in the front doors and the rear door window switches look like the hole was chewed out by a small dog.
I have a VS Acclaim I am wrecking and will transfer electric windows over to this VR when time permits.
