I broke the interior mirror on my VR. Unfortunately it is the one that glues to the screen. I have looked at about 20 replacements and they all have broken or brittle mounting tabs.

As I am about to redo my headlining, is there an easy way to change the mirror to the roof mounted type?

I currently have a VT one in place and while generally good, it does sit very high and I am now noticing that in certain positions, it fouls the driver's visor.

Thanks

I've been watching a few but if they are as easy to break as mine was, I reckon an alternative might be better.

With the headlining out, I discovered that the panel above the windscreen is factory-drilled to suit a roof mounted mirror mount, even though the car had a screen-mounted one.

The roof mirrors are far easier to get and heaps cheaper than the screen ones...
