Don't do it ..........there are issues with the different wire connections between the two models and it will burn out the the circuitboard on the cluster and if youre unlucky trash your cars wiring loom.
Hi All
You now have 3 people telling you they will not fit..
Like the guy said the gauges will fit in your VP dash
but the VR dash will NOT fit in just by slotting it in.
I was given one by a wrecker after asking for a VP dash
and he did not know what he was talking about. I found out
by asking in here and by burning the dash to bits. I stuck
in the VR dash and the smoke filled the car. I was very
shaken at the time and took it out ASAP. the tracks on
the VR dash had burnt in 3 places and there was no fixing
it let me tell you it was stuffed. I bought a VP dash
standard and had the VR dash I removed all gauges from
the VP and VR dash.. I used the dash Case from the VP
and inserted all the VR gauges and covering the holes
that where not used. everything worked like a treat.
But repeat DO NOT USE THE VR DASH in your VP..
as Madhouse_Dave said so long as u use ur flexi circiut ull b right to change over to vr gauges. i did the same with my vn. bought a level 2 dash from the wreckers that was suppose 2 be vn and was told it would push straight in. pushed it in and got smoked out so i just used my leve 1 flexi circuit punched otu the holes for the vr level 2 gauges and it worked sweet as.
