I have done this on my Chev but the TV cable looks like a different set-up on the VR. On my chev when you pull throttle the TV cable also gets pulled out. On the VR the cable does not do anything and just gets more slack. Not sure if this is correct.

I just have a suspicion that the trans is not performing optimally. How can I go about resetting the TV cable?

Well the cable I am looking at is probably the Cruise control and not the TV cable. Does the VR have electronic kick down?

vr does not have a kickdown cable.

it is automatically controlled by the ecu.

the older vn-vp automatic transmissions are the ones that have a kickdown cable
