Vr ute Engine light doesnt work

I have a vr ute I cant get the engine light to work I have tried replacing the globe and tried with another cluster I just cant get it to work any ides would be great cheers

Bridge pins 5 & 6 then turn key to reds to see if CEL light flashes if nothing can try test light,look up diagram where CEL wire is on ecu or if on aldl plug(?) then see if codes flash on test light/

My CEL wouldn't work when key turned or when doing a code check, but it did Flicker sometimes.
Changing the bulb did nothing, so I ended up pulling the ECU out and discovered some of the pins and the connector plug were corroded.
Cleaned them up and all worked fine. Worth a look.
