Just a question? How do you take the door pods off a VR/VS? Any one know what the going cost for them is? Going to get some Pioneer TSC-1624's 220Watt Componets and was going to mount the speaker in the pod on the door and the tweeter in the factory VN location. Any one having done this can you please post some pics/info, or scan the Street Commodores article.

    Cheers

They should have these black plastic cylindrical things - that's what the speakers screw into...I'll have a look for the article

i have the article infront of me its in december 2003
basically u remove the old pocket thing and it screws up to it u also need to cut out the door trim behind where the speaker would fit the speaker actually bolts to the door using a plastic riser thing which should come with the vr/vs pods new screw holes need to be made in the door trim because the pods are dif size to the original pockets but its easy to do with a little bit of common sense if u need any more info just ask

Cheers, sent you a PM. How much does anyone know about power ratings? How come for example the 6x9's I was looking at are 400W Max. and are 80W Nominal:)confused: ) and yet the 330W max ones are also 80W Nominal:)confused: still dont know what they mean).
The speakers im looking at are as follows:
Any thoughts on these, or recommend something better, keeping in mind I want to run all the same brand.
    Cheers

U should ignore max outputs - most of the time I reckon companies just make it up. When it actually hits its max,its for a very short time. The RMS which is basically its constant is the best measurement of those two.

    If you're gonna get a sub, I wouldn't get the 6x9s.

That's the thing not sure yet as damn boot is leaking and cant find the leak so cant put anythin in the boot, so am going good 6x9's, and then if I get sub's i'll make a new parcel shelve any way.
    Cheers
