Vs 304 won't start whilst hot

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge to test the fuel system?

No I do not, would this tell me if the pressure reg is buggered?

My old wagon had this similar issue, I used to do what another post said. That was to prime the fuel pump multiple times(usually 3) before starting and it worked almost every time. Not sure if maybe when siting the fuel gets hot in the fuel rail maybe? and priming it puts some fresh cold fuel in the rail again. Only takes 10sec or so to do 3 quick primes. You could also have an issue to, but its not the first time ive heard this issue for 304 owners either.
