Hey peps

I bought a VS for a daily just to drive to and from work. Payed $300 with rego for it as a non goer but managed to get the problem sorted and get the old girl up and going again. Also managed a pink slip so shes good to go for 12 months. After then it will be sold on or wrecked out.
In the meantime so i dont get defects or Police attention have decided to tidy it up and possibly make some more upgrades in my off time.
Anyway here it is.

Have no idea why panels kicked in. Young blokes i guess.

Gave it a skid once going to make sure it was up to the job after being fixed, was only a loose earth lead.

Gave the drivers gaurd a bit of a hit not perfect but better than it was.

Ratted out a fuel flap from spares pile, got some center caps and refitted rear bar and removed ugly black tape

Was given another passengers gaurd from a mate so fitted it up

Painted fuel flap and found some clear indicators in shed.

Not an exciting car i know, iv also fitted better struts and some new rear shocks i had. Iv wrecked 20 VR-VY commodores so parts no hassle
I also fitted a new cd player 6x9s and new front speakers from the parts bin. Ill be doing a Lev 3 dash cluster conversion and if i find a cheap V8 conversion or L67 might have a crack at that. Total budget spent is under a grand with 6 months rego so im very happy.

Defiantly not a bad score for 300, With a bit of panel beating and some TLC you have got yourself a nice car. But for 300 it looks pretty neat and you have already got it looking pretty good.

So spent the day changing interior and fitting chome window moulds.

Current interior err yuc

These windows have to be removed

Glass and seat removed

Glass refitted

Seats fitted

Rear trim fitted. Was going to fit power windows but as budget build will sell for few extra dollars

Left side moulds fitted

Right side fitted.

Next step Lev 3 dash conversion and replace rear lights and garnish.

Double post soz so edited

Standard dash cluster has typical cog broken so will replace with Calais Cluster

Not a straight change and as replacing dash anyway will install patch harness

Once soldered in ill attack dash removal. Have wrecked out several VS commodores so not a hard job.

Ok so finished Lev3 dash conversion and replaced dash and wheel. Took 6 hours including having a beer or 2.

Step 1
Removed dash as had kids drawing on it and looks like someone attacked it with a knife

Step 2
Remove dash, a helpers great but i did it solo

Step 3
install patch harness from lev 3 dash to Lev 2 wiring harness then reinstall

Step 4 reinstall dash and refit everything removed

Step 5 power up and test it out

Step 6
Job done, neads a vacume as its a work car and all parts were from Calais wreck except the Spac dash which was also given to me

Not a hard job and atleast i know my fuel ave now.

To make fuel average accurate you will need to calibrate the dash
