Vs Dash lights

Me & my mate are both having problems with our VS Dash lights
I have a S2 Acclaim Sedan, he has a ute.

Both of us have put cd players in (if that helps).

Both of our dash lights have stopped working, incuding the ones next to the gear shifter (P,R,N,D,1,2,3 etc) have stopped.

It does not seem to be a fuse, or we cant find the fuse it is.
I tried changing the illum fuse and that just made the cabin light and ignition barel light work again.

any ideas?

problem

did you earth the new stereo's straight to the body of the car or did you find a cable that is going to earth?

if you used a multi-meter to find the earth cable pull the stereo back out and test it again and whilst testing it turn the headlights on. (replace blown fuse first) and i almost gaurantee your "earth" cable will lose continuity or at least increase resistance.

if this is all a bit confusing just earth the black wire from the stereo to the steel of the car and not the cable and see how that goes.

p.s there will be a blown fuse just try and find it
