Thanks for that Brett, I'd been thinking about that. And as I've replaced my plugs 4 times in 20,000km haha, it's possible they have some damage

Just gave the maf a clean, waiting for it to dry and the rain to stop then ill give it a go. Wouldnt it be a timeing issue causing the intake backfires

I guess the question is: which sensor will affect the timing as such an not set off a DTC?

Cleaning the maf made no change. Oh and i forgot to mention, the altinator is currently off as im doing with heater pipes

How clean is the air filter?
Did you clean the plenum when there?
Are you sure you got all lines connected and in the right spot?
Did you lubricate the O-rings when fitting them?
Got a friend with a scan tool?
How olds the fuel filter?

Fuel filter is 3 weeks old, even with the top of the airbox up itll do it. Yep lubed the rings before i reasembled it all. All the lines are in the right spot

sounds nuts but what brand is your fuel filter ive had dodgy filters in the past

I think its a ryco. I doubt thats the problem anyway, as steve said this problem has only started after i did the valley gaskets
