There's no cig lighter just the padded console lid with a black metal plate screwed to the underside of pad with wiring going into it

Please read my previous post.

Is yours a Caprice ??? ............no.....it's a Statesman, so the wiring is there but the accessory item isn't fitted because it's not the Caprice variant.

Sorry for being harsh but please read.

Some cars had phone kits. I have a small metal plate on the underside of my console lid that says 'kenwood'.

BTW, my VR Calais has the console lighter as standard.
