Hi all, Im just finishing up a full dash/electrics conversion on my vr ute with vs statesman body loom, climate, power windows, mirrors and central locking etc
The problem im having is with the air con pressure switch on the receiver drier.
The switch in the vs loom has a 4 pin type switch whereas on the ute i have a 2 pin type switch.
I have tried to source a 4 pin type switch from many different sources (even Holden but they all tell me there is no difference between climate and non climate) with v8 powered vehicles. So im at a bit of a loss. I tried several wreckers who wreck calais and statesman v8 and they have all told me the vehicles they have are fitted with 2 pin type sensors. I stopped off at a car yard on the way home and found a vs statesman which had a 4 pin type switch but was v6 so maybe it is a 4 pin just for v6??
I also obtained a wiring diagram for climate control and found it to only show four pins and not two pin type.
So i am at a loss could anyone explain a way around this or explain their own set up ??

Thanks all

Hey chum

So this is a plug hanging off the receiver/dryer?

I have a VS Caprice 5.0 and am happy to go look for you but, if no one can simply tell you the answer you will need to dumb it up a little ;)

Yep exactly. At the top of the receiver drier there is a switch with either 2 or 4 wires coming from it. It can be seen through the front bumper on the drivers side of the condensor. The wires lead up to the drivers side of the radiator and into the main wiring loom just above the drivers headlight.
Thanks heaps Simmons001

Excellent. Thanks heaps. You have confirmed my suspicions.
Ill give holden another ring tomorrow and get them to try under a caprice maybe.
if no luck there ill just keep trying wreckers. Ill get there in the end.
Do you only have the one thermo fan with 2 wires going to it also?
Sorry to be a pain
