vs transmission issues

gday all i have a vs 5ltr ute auto that changes gears fine but once your cruising in top it wants to continually drops back to third then back into top again it does the same with the power button in or out any ideas would be much appreciated thanks tom

I had the same issue with my V6 trans, the over drive clutch was fried,
try cleaning the "lock-up solenoid" they have a small filter on the end, it could be stopping it from giving full pressure on the clutch.

make sure the trans fluid is in good clean condition
