VS ute, starting issues

Hi, ute starts fine when cold but once its warm, just cranks over. Once it has cooled a little ,it starts again. Had it in at the auto electrician but they just charged me for their time.
Would appreciate any advice. Thanks

Is it V6 or V8?

I had a problem where if I drove more than about 45 min stopped the car, then tried to start it very soon after it would struggle to crank. After it cooled no problems. Also had it at the auto electrician. In the end advised by a mechanic I know to get the battery tested. I went to a local auto shop where they had the latest tester which showed my battery was apparently operating at 12% capacity. New battery solved the problem - I think. Well had no more issues in the month an a half with the new battery before someone did a u turn in front of me writing the car off.

If it a v6 maybe crank angle sensor if v8 maybe hall effect
