Hello people, I'm in a hurry, done a short search and couldn't see what I'm looking for.
Can you tell me what size thread is in the crank holding the harmonic balancer on please.

I used a 2 legged puller with a tube socket to pull my harmonic balancer off, but choose the wrong tube socket to take up the distance.
In the process the wrong tube socket damaged the first few internal threads of the crank

Thank you in advance

Pete

Can't help you with the crank thread. But if you do it again. Use the crank bolt under the puller screw instead of a socket. Just screw it in a few threads.

Hey people, I found a thread tap at work and sorted my car last night.
I found the thread size to be 3/4UNF

Cheers Pete

Hi Losh1971,

I couldn't get the metric thread gauges to fit the thread on the bolt. But when I found the thread tap that was suggested, (3/4UNF) I held them up to the light, and the threads matched up perfect.
I called Holden and a guy there said it sounded right, he use to work in the work shop apparantly.

Cheers Pete
