from memory as i did mine 3months ago
left hose on water pump goes to drivers side and up to heater pipe on firewall (top i think)
in between this hose you install the tap (in/out pipe with a vac hose)
Run other hose from bottom heater pipe on firewall and return to right side of water pump. Usualy running the hose in between rocker cover and manifold

Thanks for the reply mate that clears it up

Just one more thing what does the heater tap mount too ? does it just lay under the cover without securing to anything ?

V8 heater tap just lays on top drivers side front of manifold, under the drivers side engine cover if you have them.
Some after market taps are different shape to OEM and will require some maneuvering to get them to sit nice under the cover.

If you mix up the hoses into the firewall to heater rad it will still work.
But hot coolant should come from thermostat area through heater tap and into lower of heater rad. Then cooler fluid should return to water pump ready for re-entry into engine
