Can someone please confirm the bore and stroke of the VT series 1 V8?

I have seen it as both 102.0 x 77mm (5033cc) and 101.6 x 76.8mm (4981cc)

Cheers

The larger one is the 308, the old school 5L used up until the VK. The smaller one is the 304 which yours will be. The stroke was reduced ever so slightly for homologation for racing.

Ok, thanks. I've seen threads saying the VS and VT were changed to 102 x 77 which seemed odd as that would be 308ci.

Fairly sure all were 4" or 101.6mm bore, it was only the stroke that changed due to GRP A homologation rules in the late 80's

Here's a fun fact, the reason the 308ci bore and stroke are in metric is because Ed Silins that desinged and drafted the engine was a Nazi rocket engineer pilot.

So the stroke of a VT is 77mm or was that still only the 308?

That Nazi rocket trivia is crazy.

304" = 4" bore and 3.02" stroke.

The factory stroker motors were the same bore but a 3.48 stroke

I think 308" had a 3.04 or 3.05 stroke.

All motors discussed have the 4" bore

About 3 months ago, I chucked out my 253 & 308 shop manual, along with other publications that nobody wanted and were of no use to me anymore.
Then along comes a pub debate like this, so without resorting to wikiknowitall ……………. it would have been no use regarding a 304 anyway.

I have all the specs online at work through our online pay walled data sites that we pay $400 a month for (more than one)

Will I post the specs.... No because I work non stop and forget this petty internet **** at work.
