What’s involved in changing a 5 speed 5l VT (I assume it’s a Getrag 260) box to a t56 ?

I would say you would possibly need a bell housing adaptor, tail shaft and maybe modified gearbox mount?

G'day mate. I don't know the answer to your question, but I would like to know if your VT is an SS or a bog standard VT Executive or Berlina? Reason I'm asking is because I'm in the process of restoring my 1998 VT Executive with a 5l 5speed manual. These are as rare as hens teeth, and I have no idea what they're worth coz I can't find any around. They (manuals) seem to come in the SS or Calais VT's. I have no intention of selling it, just curious.

I mistakenly put 260. It’s a 290 getrag.
M34 on build plate. If you’re build plate has m35 (as trans on build plate) it will be a 260 getrag.

I'm not putting a 5speed in it mate. The original gearbox is in perfect condition so not changing that. My build plate says it's an M34

cool. I’m going stroker with mine and would prefer to keep the 5 speed at this stage. However I can’t find any
Strengthening advise as yet.
If I can’t beef it, I’ll go to a T56 (reluctantly)
