vt air-con

hey guys, just got a quick query regarding my VT's air con...

basically, there's no cold air coming out - i'd imagine that'd be a recharge which is easy enough

but also there's a weird whoosing or whisteling noise that varies with engine revs

is that noise because of if needing a regas, or would it indicate something more sinister?

My VT air stuffed up much the same as yours...Basically no air coming out thru the vents..It went back to Holden via warrenty & they changed some valve on the back of the compressor & regassed it...That was 4 years ago & still works good...Touch Wood.

sounds like you might need to replace your TX valve about $75 + re gas

Does the noise change when you change the air direction, eg from face to floor or windscreen? Does it sound like a vaccume leak?

i guess you could say it sounds a bit like a vacuum leak... or rather it did, i had it regassed and the sound's stopped

I have to take it back again in another week or so to get it looked over and see if there's a leak anywhere.

Yes that's the valve they replaced on mine...I just couldn't remember what it was called...
