Yeah i agree having both seems unecessary, my windscreen is inoperable and im leaving it that way. As for the fuel, well proofs in the pudding, i guess ill have to try them and see which one i feel gives the better performance.

Been reading the manual and noticed that the audio has a PIN number for security purposes, I dont know mine. Has anyone come across problems with having to re-enter PIN and is it possible to by-pass this?.
Manual says its only necessary if the battery is disconnected at anytime.

I really doubt if anyone could 'feel' any greater performance from using PULP compared to ULP....I couldnt the few times I have had too use ULP when travelling away and forced to fill up with ULP. I was once told by someone who knows that the overall performance increase is ONLY 3%......Hardly seems worth it if thats what you are chasing...but from experience I have had significant economy gains and GMH recomend its use so I will keep using it. I run PULP in all my vehicles now (mainly coz I have it in bulk on hand 24/7) and also small stationary engines. I run a new Crewman S also with ecotec V6.....I should do a comparison with PULP/ULP in that vehicle. Trouble is I dont have any long trips planned for a while and short running isnt the way to get acurate data.

Cheers

depends on the car if you notice it or not.

A modified car will notice the difference, more so when tuned to run more timing on pulp.

when these fill with ulp they ping and carry on. its even noticable on some stock jap and korean cars. they run around on PULP then get a tank of ulp and ping for the first 1/4 tank or so until the computer knocks some timing back.

but its true some cars that don't have computers that can increase timing for pulp will not show any improvement when driving when the motor is in good cond.

Keeping on topic, we are discussing a S/C V6 Calais. I have the identical driveline in my VT 'S' S/C V6. I have never felt any appreciable performance (acceleration) increase when using PULP compared to ULP. I know there must be some but it is so small it cannot be detected. Where I DO see it is in my fuel ecomomy on long trips.

I will use PULP everytime in preference to ULP because it must be better for the engine with regard to pinging etc. I use it in all my vehicles...it cant hurt!?

With the mods I am planning over the next few months I feel it will even be MORE mandatory to run PULP.

Cheers

QUOTE The only ones you see that do were ones fitted at home and they have not dissconnected the window one. which is illegal. depends on the state i spose thats the case in NSW anyway.

My rear spoiler was fitted by a well known business here in SA that the Holden Dealer sent me to. They specialise in modifications to cars and I am sure they would know what is illegal. Given they never disconnected the rear high brake light, I imagine it is not illegal here is SA.

Don't bet on it. My brother got done for it here in Adelaide and the cop told him the rear window had to be disconnected. It's another one of these stupid laws.

On another subject, $17,500 is a bit pricey for your car especially a series 1. If it were a VX Calais it would sound a bit better but I hope it's very low Klms and has a few extras on it or sorry mate you paid a bit much.

Some cops don't know all the laws, get one that does.
