Hello all,

as the title of this thread suggests I was wondering if my hazard light button is supposed to light up at night? I have a mate who has a vx and theirs lights up red so i was wondering if mine is supposed to light up or do I just buy one from a vx?

my lights up red when i put on the headlight. if it's the same like other instrument and switches in the car there's should be a globe inside the switch itself, and they do blow. the last time i replaced one in the lpg/petrol switch it cost about $5 from holden. the real trouble is getting the switch out to replace it.

If your headlights are on, it is supposed to be on. Though you light must be blown. You can take it too holden or do it yourself I guess, you'll need to take the dash off to do it though.

It would be better to source a new globe, than purchasing a second hand switch.

Hmmm so i'm guessing then that the globe is easy to remove out from the switch or easier to replace the whole switch?

The globe is easy to replace.

Remove dash fascia, disconnect switch ,replace globe , re install.

Either way to replace the globe or switch you will have to remove the dash fascia.

Ok then, globe it is. I guess that way I can be certain that the globe works. Better that than getting a whole switch, installing it and then only to find that the globe is blown in that switch too

Or to have to replace the globe in the secondhand switch in the near future.

Just leave it doesnt matter if it doesnt light up, my traction control light doesnt light up at nite. How often do u press the hazard switch anyway? if u break down at nite all that will happen is that it mite take a fraction of a second longer to run ur hand over the area its meant to be before its found and pressed not worth the effort replacing unless u really have that bad OCD a globe in a button thats barely ever pressed isnt lit up that its making u bite ur fingernails off and go crazy u have bigger problems than a blown globe
