Yes I think that probably is the problem with all five strikers as they are probably all worn from unsealed road use for most of it's life.

UPDATE: When I wind the 4 windows down a little bit (5 mm) it virtually stops and only the tailgate makes a few sounds, there is still some flexing and creaking sounds (like the old wooden ships) when I pull into or out of my driveway.

I have exactly the same problem and mine stops as soon as i wind down the windows a little, i wish i knew how to fix it. My wagon has manual windows and has done 118548kms.

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

Maybe a bit of silicone spray on the rubber around the windows would help.

I am hoping this is not a chassis rigidity problem which was present with the VT wagons but fixed in the VX, then again if it was most VT wagon owners would be complaining.

Hey Muso, I have a VT series 1 wagon and have the same issue... has your car ever been in an accident? i think mine has been before i owned it and suspect that might be the cause

It may have been, I don't know, it has a dent in the front left guard but not big enough to affect the whole chassis.
