vt powersteering racks

Cars a vt series 1 ss with a 304

Are the racks between v6 and v8 the same?
i had a rack from a vx v6 and though everything bolts up etc the high pressure hose had a different size thread on the rack
can anybody give me a definative answer to whether the v6 series 1 rack will fit? somebody mentioned that the vts1 had to have a vts1 rack vt s2 onward could be swapped between vx-vy

dont want to fork out for a v8 rack if i can use a vt s1 v6 one

all i know is a brought a vx one to go into my vt and was told bolt in easy as.
it was not the case.the necks are different so the safety pin to column and lines don't match up.

example i was trying to put a 15mm into a 17mm hole heres some pics.

make sure it's a perfect match before going ahead. on the black painted one you can see i couldn't get it in properly and the holes where the lines go in are different sizes.

and also found that they are opposite so it's like putting a high pressure line into a low pressure hole if you swap them around of course.

series 1 is only exchangeable for series 1 is what i found out the hard way.
