hey guys n gals, just a quick question. ive got a vt berlina series 1, my a/c is not working, eveything is ok, fan etc, except its not cold. now a guy has looked at it n said that the module(?) has gone. is this easily replaced? im used to working on earlier cars ( pre-injection ), but computerised are a different thing, any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers, shano

Unfortunately I have no idea what the guy means by module. One of the main reasons the aircon stops blowing cold air is lack of refrigerant. Have you had it re-gassed at all? Another reason could be the compressor is not working. Does the compressor cut in when you switch on the A/C? Have you checked the fuse and relay relating to the A/C? There could be other reasons why it's not working but I'll just go with the ones I mentioned for the moment.

check out ebay speedy air spares i just paid 52.00 for a reciever from holdens i could of got it for 18.00, vt have a problem off leaking compressor seals, i had mine looked at recently he said if your compressor is gone it will cost $1000.00 i replied dont worry about it i can get them for $350 from speedy he was trying to rip people off

i had the same problem (air con seemed to be running 100% apart the main thing, cold air). got it regassed, it just hadnt been used or too long, so yeah, regassed now runs better/colder than my bosses car.

$100 for leak check and regas is worth it
