I am finding clearance a B!tch in the old girl. Compressor going to the passenger side to shorten the length of all the pipes to the fire wall - the air con unit is mounted behind the glovebox The Alternator is easier to extend wires rather than run air con pipes all over the place. I was going to mount it beside the sump but it fowls on the chassis rail.

.... although its proving to be a pain for the MAF and Pod!!
No power steering, the old girl is 1100kg with a bus size steering wheel, real easy to turn!

Just a bit of useless info i know you got it sorted now, but an alternator works the same spinning in either direction, it makes an ac current so polarity isn't an issue, the ac is made into dc current by the rectifier diode plate so its the same either way, the only issue is the internal cooling fan may be less efficient in reverse.

maybe because of the fan? i was just speaking electrically, it does the same thing in either direction. it would just make an ac current with the sine wave inverted or phase shifted half a wavelength which the rectifier would turn into dc the same as in the other direction.

No I am doing them custom Ina 55year old car with sonata motors. Just takes time!!
