VT/VU thread part of throttle cable snapped

hey guys does anyone know if its hard to replace the throttle cable its snapped were the plastic thread is were you adjust the tension.?
or any idea on how much a mechanic would charge

yeap just like that
so its not to hard to replace?
and should i just be able to undo it from the throttle body unclip it from the accelerator pedal pull it all out and then reverse?

ahh i see
might get a bit tight under the dash to get that pedal wire on
if so
disconnect the battery and take the seat out ?

take both nuts off the thread side (already broken on yours)
then tie a rope to that ... etc etc

I think ive got it figured out from the throttle body end and ive got plent of room to get it from under the steering area im just not sure on getting it off the accelarator pedal and what the go is with the yellow thing

you will find once the cable goes slack it will fall off the pedal ..to your annoyance

yellow thing stops the wire chaffing -- sort of a guide as well

when you put your head under ...you will get it

dont know why this fix isnt in my repair manual ?

Well ill head down repco and buy a new cable if i can get it out im more then possitive ill get it back in thanks guys i found a thread says you can slide it off the accelarator pedal with a flat head screw driver and slide it through the gap

Yep.....
Just pop the little yellow cap off with the screw driver and the new one just clips back on.

Before you feed the cable through the fire wall from the engine bay,
put a little silastic on the rubber grommet that pushes into the fire wall.
Only a little bit though.
Just stops it coming out.

okay sweet all done cheers guys was so simple might even write up a how-to with some photo's to help anyone else out that has this problem :)
