Hi all,

I have replaced the engine in my 99 series II VT with an identical motor. I used the original wiring loom and have double checked that everything is hooked up. It won't start or even crank over when I turn the key. I get all reds on my dash, the fuel pump works and everything else seems fine. Do I need to reset the computer? If so how do I do this? Does there seem to be something I am missing? Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using the original computer then it should be fine without resetting it. Check your starter motor and associated fuses and relay.

All the fuses are ok. The starter relay clicks when I turn the key. I am using the original starter as it was fine on the old motor.

It was the starter motor. Was fine on old engine. Replaced and she starts!

Maybe your new engine is tighter than the old one and the original starter motor, being older and a bit tired,
may not have had enough grunt to turn over the newer engine.
