vt wont start ( sometimes )

Also just cleaned the earth on the alternator the one just below the alternator and little one just behind the battery is there any others im missing
Also while i was doing that i chucked my battery on charge was only at 20% then quickly went to 40%

try this

check the battery terminal .. is clean at the wire contact bolt on part
check the battery to earth wire at the body
the wire to the starter ... look for corrosion of the wire or broken insulation
does that wire to the starter ever get very hot when cranking
is starter solenoid and starter working ok most of the time
next ignition fault

Brand new exide battery
well 6 months old nah
dont think starters got anything to do with it
i did check all the earth points that i know of
Still cant find the earth block to body strap ????

Ok guys so i changed my alternator today
The readings were awesome
Only dipping to 13.85 whilst aircon and lights on
And while it was just ideling with nothing on it was 14.50
One thing tho
i put neg on neg and pos on alternator housing it read - 0.08
That was whilst lights and air con was on
But when i turned everything off it read - 0.02
