Ok, I am on my second series 2 VT wagon (because I like 'em).
In my brand new Max Ellery's repair manual for the VT, under "Fuel Tank", I read "Station Wagon models use a low pressure priming pump within the tank and an additional high pressure pump in the fuel feed line mounted in an insulated bracket to reduce noise transmission. The electrical lines to the tank mounted pump are spliced to accommodate extension leads to the additional pump."
What? I did not know this. Can anybody give me further info about this?
Location of the additional pump would be good for starters. :hmmm:

Yup, only in the wagons. Somewhere in between the tank and engine...As I said in my original there are supposed to be 2 pumps, 1 primer in the tank and the high pressure one further up the fuel line. Ah well, I have to get under it soon so I will look for it then. Just by the way, I put a replacement tank in it a few weeks ago. Did not know about the second pump then. The only wiring I can see is the normal harness to the top of the tank. All the wagons and sedans are plastic tanks, 75l capacity. I think the utes have a steel tank which bolts onto the body behind the driver under the ute floor. 70l

i have been selling efi components for quite a few years now and the vt v6 series sedan/wagon all have the same pump assembly, never had any mechanics wanting a high flow external one for the wagons...

first suits V6 and V8
second suits supercharged V6
no mention of wagons being different

As a mechanic and an owner of a vt v6 wagon. I can confirm that its the same as a sedan. It's even the same pump

Thanks for the info. I will get onto the distributor of the Ellery's manual for an explanation.
