Hi everyone, just wondering what was the factory clutch for a 5spd vx. Did they come out with a single or double pressure plate? Thanks

Single, cars Under 100k new don't usually come with a twin plate.

Also it's only ever one pressure plate it's the frictions that double up in a twin.

Yeah if it's a whole kit with correct bearing and what not as I'd say theirs quite a difference in thickness from plate face to fingers.

Just how much power are you running to justify the twin plate? Getrag usually blow up before a decent single plate slips...

I think he’s probably referring to single or dual mass FLYWHEEL not pressure plate, std is a dual mass flywheel setup which can’t be machined to suit a new clutch so u have to buy a new flywheel as well as the clutch they sell kits that come complete with a flywheel and clutch setup, if wanting to upgrade ur clutch then a heavy duty clutch with a single mass flywheel is the way to go and also if ever you need to replace the clutch in future u don’t have to buy another flywheel again as it can be re machined

Yeah rogie also fyi if rubbers good on a dual mass you can use them again it's just not the perfect world solution. You just put an 80 grift 2" buff pad on a wizzy gun and give it a new surface to bite.
