VX COMMODORE V6 02
Good evening ladies and gents.

Got a bit of a question, I know it may of already been discussed but for some reason my coolant in the radiator keeps on coming out of the top of the radiator cap.

Any chance this could be of bad luck and the radiator cap needs replacing or something more serious?

Any chance someone could possibly help me out? And let me know what the causes may be?

Cheers.

I've got a vx 02 V6 Ecotec

Start with replacing the cap on the coolant tank (with a genuine one if possible) before you look at more exotic (read expensive) solutions.

Wrong Radiator cap ?, as they have 2 seals.

Maybe the neck of radiator is cracked ?

New ones are pretty cheap. Don’t get one of those fancy ones with the pressure release lever on the top. They’re tricky to get on properly and if you don’t get it right, you’ll blow a head gasket and end up spending hours stranded on the side of the Princes freeway in Werribee at night and have weird Indian dudes knocking on your window while you’re trying to sleep… or so I’ve heard *cough*.
